Diagnostic Testing
Before any repair work begins, every motor goes on our hydraulic test bench to establish a baseline: flow, pressure, speed, volumetric efficiency, and case drain rate. This identifies exactly what’s failing — gerotor sets, vane assemblies, piston blocks, valve plates, bearings, or shaft seals — and whether a rebuild makes sense or replacement is the better call. After rebuild, every motor goes back on the bench and is tested against OEM performance specifications before it’s returned.
Common Failure Modes
Internal leakage past worn gerotor sets or piston/cylinder block clearances, scored or pitted valve plates, shaft seal failure from contamination or excess case pressure, worn bearings causing shaft play, and worn commutation components are the most frequent issues we find. Front Range conditions — dust, debris, gritty soil, and large seasonal temperature swings — accelerate contamination-related wear, particularly on open-circuit systems without adequate filtration.
Custom Machining to OEM-Spec
When stock replacement parts aren’t available, are backordered, or don’t fit older or modified equipment, we machine new components in-house: shafts, valve plates, gerotor sets, housings, and wear plates, manufactured to OEM tolerances. This keeps legacy and hard-to-source equipment running without weeks of downtime waiting on parts.
Our Rebuild Process
Every motor that comes through our shop receives a full teardown and inspection, cleaning and parts evaluation, machining or sourcing of replacement components, precision reassembly with new seals, bearings, and wear components, and final bench testing to confirm performance meets or exceeds OEM specifications.
